Query Manager is a data delivery application developed by NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R)/Assessment and Restoration Division (ARD). The mapping application MARPLOT was jointly developed by NOAA, the EPA, the Coast Guard, and the Census Bureau.

Data included in this download were collected from a variety of sources. Geographic data in MARPLOT are largely derived from Tiger/Line files included on EPA LandView CDs. Sediment chemistry, tissue chemistry, and sediment toxicity data are from numerous sources. Original source materials have not been checked extensively. Users of these data should refer to the original sources to review the limitations of the data from individual studies and to check for accuracy.

The user assumes the entire risk related to its use of these data. Query Manager and MARPLOT Installation Instructions

Important:

In order to install Query Manager, you must have administrator privileges or the proper permissions set for installing software programs. Certain organizations block users from performing this type of operation. If you are unsure, please check with your IT support person.
If you have Query Manager already installed on your machine, please see these special instructions.

The following files are required to complete installation:

Query Manager/MARPLOT Installer
Watershed Database
Watershed Maps

Installing Query Manager and MARPLOT applications with the Watershed Data and Maps:

Download the Query Manager/MARPLOT Installer from the NOAA ARD web site.
When prompted choose save this file to disk, and specify a location to download the file. You may choose any location you wish because the installation program will install the application files in the proper directory structure. By default, Query Manager 2.6 will be extracted into C:\qm26win; MARPLOT 3.3 will be extracted into C:\qm26win\MARPLOT.
Download a watershed database, associated maps, and, if necessary, the most current dictionary files. The self-extracting file will unzip the files and place them in the appropriate Query Manager directory structure (e.g., C:\qm26win\DelawareRiver).
Once downloaded to your computer you will find the following files:
- QM26WIN.exe
- Data (i.e. deyymmdd.exe)
- Maps (i.e. demaps.exe)
Quit all other applications before installing Query Manager and MARPLOT. Double-click each of the downloaded .exe files and follow the window prompts. Note that both Query Manager and MARPLOT use an InstallShield Wizard, while the data and maps are self-extracting zips.

System Requirements

To use Query Manager, your computer must meet the following minimum requirements:

Windows PC with 80386sx or higher processor
Mouse
6 MB RAM (or 4 with virtual memory set to temporary or permanent)
MS-DOS version 3.1 or higher
Microsoft Windows version 95 or later
VGA or higher resolution monitor
640 by 480 or higher resolution display

Hard Disk Space Requirements

At a minimum, you will need the applications and one data and map set. Additional temporary disk space may be required to operate application
